Someone just posted up about Coyote Trail on a game I'm on: http://coyotetrail.wikidot.com. Have a look at it?

So you want a Lords and Ladies WOD mu*?

Why not just stab yourself in the spleen? It would be less painful and more amusing.

    @Cirno

Dude, if anyone is all for letting people enjoy what they want be it harms none, it would probably be @nuku_v, but you should be near that list.

I'm just saying your idea has the potential to go down the shitter really quickly, given the highly toxic Lords and Ladies and WoD communities, but we are all looking forward to hearing about how Princess Sparkly Vampire devoured ten dicks with her pussy, thus causing bitter strife and lulz in a ten page thread.

So go forth and create the unholy abomination you wish to conceive.

Wait, are there any Lord & Lady games running WoD?

Actually, this idea -if idea it can be called, I'd call it a violation of the Geneva Convention- has the potential to harm a lot of people, hence my misgivings.

Far be it from me to intervene on anyone's fun, however. I am standing down.

I don't think I mentioned lords and ladies. Ever.

"Historically Themed" generally points towards a Lords and Ladies game, especially since you did not mention a cutoff point barring Medieval periods.

I thought Lords & Ladies games were sort of like classifying things "science fantasy". I never thought of calling L&L games "historically-themed", unless they also have a historical theme.

    I live and learn.

Most L&L games are set in timeframes with historical trappings: BoD, GoB, RoA, to name a few off the top of my head.

There are anomalies like Star Crusade and The Fifth World, but by and large they are mostly set in Medieval Not-Europe, and populated by Medieval White Not-Europeans.

Realms of Adventure is hilarious in its racial homogeneity; look at the Character page on its wiki, it's like looking at a white sheet of paper.

That is a blog about black people in Medieval Europe...

  • So... you're looking for a Dark Ages or Wild West game? Or just any WoD game set in a prior time period? Cause I think the last one that did that was that vamp game set in Seattle in the '20s. And as far as I know, that one shut down awhile back.

For the record, I'm open to any setting (as long as there is a compelling story or an inspiring historical period), but I'm not focused on any one over the other. Old west and roaring 20s seemed the most likely settings.

There are (and have been) WoD mushes, old and new, in almost ever real (or fictional) town in the United States. I'm far from an expert, but all the of the games that exist seem very much the same. How different is Maine from New Orleans? Or NYC from Las Angeles? shrug I like the idea of a historical WoD mux because it peppers a lil flavor to the WoD theme, but I realize I might be in the minority.

My understanding is that the problem you run into once you try to run a historical WoD game of non-trivial size is that the players are unwilling to research the relevant time period which forces you to either strictly theme police and give players homework or slowly watch the game feel like 21st century Maine anyhow.

The games set in 21st Century Maine are nothing like 21st Century Maine. I did want to add that.
