Shadowrun Denver is a 3rd Edition MUSH set in Denver and the surrounding city (with smaller maps for CAL-FREE and New Orleans).
Denver, 2081: Manufacturing roadblocks in Europe and a recent PoliClub attack in Seattle have dramatically affected the cost of goods for land-locked areas, most of all the Denver Metroplex. The temporary squeeze on imports into Denver has led to a resulting increase in black market wares, luxury goods shortages, and freshwater for the rich.
From Ghostwalker on down, powerful interests are circling their wagons. Meanwhile, smugglers are raking it in, and go gangs are making hay while the sun shines in The Mile High.
Meanwhile one of the prominent Denver Mob families are suffering from an unexpected death in the, er, family.
Smaller orgs and corps smell opportunity now. Only a matter of time until the heavies expand their protection rates...*
A flashpoint is happening next week and plots have the following modifiers:
- The Denver Koshari often play second fiddle to the big crime Orgs, so they're taking full advantage of this supply chain breakdown. +1 Karma to any run that helps fence goods to the Koshari or is a Koshari sponsored search and destroy gig to hit a competitor Org's smuggling operation.
- The new New Orleans area is suddenly ripe for a smuggling port. An additional 10K payout to all plots that operate in this NOLA and help get goods to Denver.
- Be careful what you wish for. Players hitting any Org operations could risk getting dragged into something bigger. ICA=ICC.
- People gotta eat! Threats in these plots are more likely to fight harder, stand around longer, and in the Big Easy you might bring the ire of some Voodoo Houngans (open plot hook too).
