I saw this post on how you might get cheaper medication in the US and thought it might be useful to someone here? And then realised we might need a thread for collectively "this feels like it might be useful to someone here" stuff.

I highly recommend GoodRx. And Costco. Especially since GoodRx coupons often also work at Costco and the few times they haven't, it was because Costco was cheaper than the listed coupons, anyway.

Note: In most states, even if you don't have a Costco membership? They're required to let you in to use the pharmacy and the pharmacy alone because of drug regulations.

Wal-Mart Pharmacy is the cheapest place that I have found for prescriptions, especially for people without insurance.

I agree fully with GoodRx. My oldest's Respiderone would cost over $100 a month, perhaps twice that considering he has to take it twice a day. With the GoodRx card we get his medicine for $8 at Walmart.

Very much yes to GoodRx.com. I work for a mental health practice and send patients there all the time. If you're on a generic, there are times where the GoodRx price is even cheaper than what your copay would be. Most pharma companies also have savings cards and patient assistance programs. Some are very, very generous with what they provide.

Costco can sometimes cover pet medications. We used to get our dog’s anti seizure meds there and it was like $25 there vs. $150 from a vet.

@snackness GOOD TO KNOW. I paid through the nose for my last round of kitty insulin.
