New OC Star Wars MUSH Set in Satellite galaxy -- Come RP With Us!

  • Do you love roleplay? Do you MISS roleplay? Maybe you've RPed on Discord or Reddit but never tried out an old school MUSH before. Or you played on MUSHes back in the day and are itching to get back into the unique social and creative fun they can be!

Do you love Star Wars, but want to try something new and fresh where you create a unique story and develop the lore of new worlds on a new game?

Companion Cresh: A Star Wars Story MUSH is an online, text-based, and story-driven roleplaying game set in an alternate companion galaxy in the Star Wars Universe.

Through the secret Hypergate controlled by a clan of Chadra-Fan, lies another unknown galaxy where the wars and political turmoil of Jedi, Sith, Republic and Empire are unheard of. Here the human-controlled Regency seeks to subdue and rule all alien worlds, while an Enclave of Force Adepts, in a bid to maintain its neutrality, hires out its services to any faction able to afford them.

Companion Cresh MUSH is a story-driven game where the players will create the history, lore and legends of their all-new worlds and races, as well as the characters and alliances that will drive its future. Reading an entire tome or knowing tons of back story won't be necessary to the new player. The flavor is Star Wars, but the theme, history and stories are all new.

The Staff of Cresh MUSH are longtime roleplayers with years of experience with Star Wars MUSH, including time as directors, wizards, and other staff of SW1.

Our brand new coded systems include Space, Faction, Chargen (based on WEG D6), Currency, and others, with new systems coming on demand, including an in-game Mech Fighting system.

Cresh will offer opportunities for players to create orgs and alliances, develop the Enclave of Force Adepts, and become the heroes and villains of Cresh. The Force in Cresh is like the MUSH itself: young, primal, ready for people to draw upon it and make it their own.

    SAMPLE ROLEPLAY:

The man in black scrutinizes the girl. With the mask covering his face and the hood casting his eyes into shadow, it is difficult for some to tell his intentions, but there is something in his stance that is more clinical than lustful. His gaze pauses at the equipment at her waist.

"He's probably armed. It is said he has the death sentence on twelve systems. Murder. Disfigurement. A man like that has an air about him. Like I said. He stands out. I mean to take him in. You should point me in his direction, if you've seen him."

The man in black's eyes narrow as he studies the girl's face. "Unless you are helping him. Perhaps with you he has already struck a deal."

She seems unfazed by his inspection of her. Instead her gaze lifts upwards to the sky where gently wafting clouds obscure the giant discs of the two moons hanging tranquilly in their orbits. She seems in fact bored with his pronouncements, rolling her eyes as the list of the man's crimes is given.

But the last suggestion -- or accusation? -- straightens her spine, and her hands drop to her sides as she looks into the shadows obscuring his features. "I know you don't know me," she says with a toss of her head. Her hand goes to rest briefly at the instrument clipped to her belt that had caught his attention, but more in a gesture of reassurance than threat. "However, I can assure you, I do not make deals with or harbor murderers. I haven't seen anyone like you're describing, but if I do, I daresay he will come to justice."

Though the man in black does not flinch or recoil at the change in stance, there is a stillness in the air around him as the girl's hand moves towards the equipment at her waist. His grip on his cane shifts ever so slightly, two fingers moving to coil behind what would be the neck of the rough-hewn wolf's head. This was not the first time someone went for their weapon while he asked them questions.

When her hand hovers over the unfamiliar rod rather than the more obvious blaster at her side, the man in black's eyes narrow. Curious.

"The words of a marshal coming from a girl barely old enough to get her True Name." The man in black's words are delivered in a quiet voice, more as an observation than an insult. "If you see him, do not approach. He might kill you. He might not. Either way, he'd slip away. And his bounty is mine."

As the air stills between them, the girl seems pleased with his reaction, however unintended it may be, and she watches his hand gripping the staff with a wary and ready stance. Her hands clench and then relax, falling away from any potential weapons she might have in her arsenal, and she rests back on her heels. "True Name? I'm Sarna Valios Starker," she says with a perceptible swelling of pride. "Collect your bounty if you will, hunter. But I assure you that your quarry will not bring me to harm. Do you require assistance bringing him in?"

There is a pause before the man in black speaks. Not a long pause, but enough space between the girl's words and his own to mark a missed step. A moment of registering. Not long enough to contemplate, but perhaps long enough to memorize.

Again, red eyes take in the full measure of Sarna from the foot to brow. Another assessment. He marks the moment by tapping his cane on the ground once more.

From the looks of the man in black, the imposition of his garments and mannerism, one might expect the bounty hunter to dismiss the girl's offer out of hand. Perhaps with a derisive laugh. What could a waif of a girl like her possibly have to offer a seasoned bounty hunter?

"10 percent," the man in black says. "If you want to assist in the hunt."

  • @medela So...you have a Star Wars Mush. Except it isn't set in the Galaxy, doesn't have Sith, Jedi, the Empire, the Alliance/Republic, or any of the familiar races.

So you don't really have a Star Wars Mush. You have an original concept Sci-Fi Mush.

  • Pitcrew

And that is super cool. I might check this out!

FYI, this comes off super salty and snobby.

    True, but also accurate.

If I advertise that I'm selling cheeseburgers only with bacon instead of beef and lettuce and tomato instead of cheese, I'm actually selling BLTs. Both are delicious sandwiches, but they aren't the same thing. Honestly, I am kind of curious why someone would limit themselves to an established IP, when they're utilizing hardly anything from that IP.

I don't know if this is a good analogy.

They use WEG D6, with everything from that system, probably pretty close to SW1. They've shaved off Jedi, Sith, Empire, Republic, Rebellion basically. Its more like its beef, but in a loose meat sandwich, the cheese is still there, but instead of American, its cheddar.

    Instead of:
    alt text

    You get:
    alt text

It plays the same, just looks a little different.

It sounds interesting to me on premise.

    1. You can be accurate without coming off salty and snobby;

    2. Because they feel like it.

Maybe instead, they could have said, "this just doesn't feel like Star Wars to me" and it would have accomplished the message without also being negative in an ad thread. That's what the Hog Pit's for. ;)

  • @coin

    I concur.

This is the Advertisement thread, people. Act appropriately.

  • A question that also probably answers in one way how this is Star Wars:

are recognizable Force powers going to be used by the Force using faction? For instance the power writeups that went with the SW WEG books, even if they aren't in the framework of Sith and Jedi etc? Will they use the same mechanics of Force Points and track the light/dark value?

I think its unusual but fine to say this is the same universe, same technologies, same genre aesthetics, some of the same species, but not the linked to the factions and history of the known setting.

What are players going to be doing is a good question too.

  • The person that posted this isn't an MSBer so I'd view this as a static thread. I think the best way to get answers if you're genuinely interested would be to hop on the game as a guest.

I've been playing this game for a week? week and a half now?

A lot of stuff is being given unto players to develop, which I think is pretty swell. I know that's not some peoples' cup of tea, but I like the freedom it presents.

I'm playing in the Regency and I'm currently stationed on High Centre. I'd love more people to RP with if anyone's been considering checking it out.

@Misadventure I don't have answers to all your questions. I think recognizable Force powers is a yes. I don't know if dark/light will be tracked, though; at least in the traditional sense. But that'd be something to ask Staff. They're still, from what I've gathered, hammering out how they'll do Force stuff (and apps for it).

  • @gamerngeek There are familiar races and tech as well as original ones. There is also some crossover with the Star Wars Galaxy itself through the plot device of the Hypergate. So while the Cresh Galaxy has historically been isolated, there is potential through roleplay for that to change. It's part of the theme of the game. For instance, on the grid right now is one Jedi Padawan who crossed over and is discovering the differences in the two places.

  • I just wanted to note (since I know some folks have been missing Space Gamez) that the space system is now in place on the game.
